"In sleep, fantasy takes the form of dreams. But in waking life, too, we continue to dream beneath the threshold of consciousness, especially when under the influence of repressed or other unconscious complexes." - Carl Jung
Dreams are successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur involuntary in the mind during certain stages of sleep. That's what Wikipedia says at least.
Throughout time many people have believed that dreams have a deeper meaning behind them, I for one, am one of those people. Whether it's a dream about flying, being naked at school (lol), or even stealing cars, I've always thought every dream has had some hidden meaning behind it. Sometimes it's not even hidden, it's just straight up there.
So whenever I have spare time (or when I'm just bored) I read books, do research, and find web sites online that convey information that scientists have found throughout the years about dreams. So I thought it would be a little fun showing you guys dream definitions that were fantasy based, since I love anything mythological as you already know.
The ones you're about to see are some of my favorites, or that I've had dreams about.
Castle: To see a castle in your dream signifies reward, honor, recognition, and praise for your achievements. You are destined to a position of power, wealth and prestige. Alternatively, the dream indicates your desire to escape from life's daily problems. To dream that you live in a castle represents your extreme need for security and protection to the point where you may be isolating yourself from others. Perhaps the dream parallels a waking situation where it has put you on the defensive.
Dragon: To see a dragon in your dream represents your strong will and and fiery personality. You tend to get carried away by your passion, which may lead you into trouble. You need to exercise some self-control. In the eastern cultures, dragons are seen as spiritual creatures symbolizing good luck and fortune. To dream that you are a dragon and breathing fire suggests that you are using your anger to get your own way.
Elf: To see an elf in your dream refers to some imbalance and disharmony in your life. The elf often serves as a guide of the soul. Alternatively, it suggests that you need to be more carefree, worry-free, and light-hearted.
Fairy: To see a fairy in your dream indicates that you are in search of some help or advice for a problem or decision, but may not want to directly admit you need help. In particular, if the fairy is evil, then it suggests that an aspect of yourself needs to be set free. The fairy is also symbolic of your soul and the feminine aspects of yourself.
Dwarf: To see a dwarf in your dream suggests that you are well-grounded and connected to nature and the earth. Alternatively, a dwarf may may mean an aspect of yourself that is not fully developed or has been repressed. You may be feeling inferior or insignificant.
Wizard/Witch: To see a wizard in your dream suggests that you are trying to hone your skills and exercise your power. To see a witch in your dream represents evil and destruction. It may point to your negative ideas of anything feminine and your experiences with dangerous or heartless women. Alternatively, a witch may be a symbol of goodness, power and enchantment depending on your feeling toward your dream witch.
Centaur: To see a centaur in your dream symbolizes the duality of human nature. It indicates that you are trying to balance your intellectual/mental nature with your physical nature. The centaur also represents humanity, wisdom, and compassion.

2013 Wishlist
I figured since 2013 is still pretty new, I could get away with posting a "2013 Wishlist" in April. But if not, just consider this a birthday/Christmas wishlist if that makes you feel better.1st on the list is something I've been wanting for a very long time, but haven't gotten around to purchasing one yet, or at least find one I like, and that would be a heart locket. When I was about 10 or 11 my parents gave me this beautiful silver locket with pictures of my new puppy on the inside, and I absolutely loved it. I wore almost every day, I thought it was the coolest thing since all my other friends wanted one. Being that it was my favorite piece of jewelry at such a young age, I would lose it a often. Well, one day I was playing in a very large field with some of my friends, and I realized I lost it. With the grass being so tall, and it beginning to rain, I was never able to find it. I'm hoping this year I'll remember to look for one when I have the money or time.
2nd on the list would be a steampunk watch. I know this sounds a little weird, but recently I've been getting into the whole victorian slash sci-fi look, and when I found pictures of steampunk watches I just fell in love. Which is weird because I'm not a watch type of person, I usually just guess the time or look at my phone. But seriously, they are beautiful.
3rd would have to be a crown ring. They're not really big in the fashion world right now, which makes them hard to find, but I've always wanted one. I think it might be because of Kingdom Hearts, or Vera Wang, but either way I think it's adorable.
4th would be giant crystals for decorating. I'm one of those crazy ladies that likes to decorate shelves with nic nacs, just not with lame ones. Action figures, pictures, and hopefully these huge beautiful crystals here pretty soon.
5th on my list is a pretty stand for my makeup brushes. I'm one of those girls who does my makeup a couple times a week, and I need something to hold them that doesn't look hideous so it looks nice in my bathroom.
6th is the whole Spooksville series. One of my favorite book series growing up, and I've been wanting them since I read the very first one.
7th is the Barns & Noble leatherbound classic series. Every classic book you can think of, they have it. Every book comes in such a beautiful design, it's hard not to want it.
8th is another weird one, amazingly awesome book ends. I see all these cool pictures on tumblr or google of really cool book ends, and here I am using candles to hold up my books. I seriously want the ones in this picture, I freaked out when I saw them.
9th is a glowing fish tank. Yep. Enough said.
And number 10 is a gamecube. I never got to play the gamecube very much as a child because we didn't own one, and only a few of my friends had it. Even though a lot of people I know didn't like it, I always did. It was on my Christmas list a few times, but my parents never got it for me. Oh well. If I got one now it would be way cheaper. Especially the games.

Doggies
I haven't been able to to post much on here because my Aunt just had a baby, so I thought showing you an old video I made a couple of months ago would make up for it. :)

Break Ups
It goes without saying that process of trying to find a significant other who is truly compatible with us can be incredibly painful, considering our need to make every single person we're with be "the one".
In life many of us are searching for "the one", and some of us are looking in the wrong places for him or her. When we find someone and start dating them, for a lot of us they all of a sudden become super special. So unreasonably special, that our significant other could literally break your heart in two and we would find a way to forgive them. We would somehow come up with some silly reason as to how what they did was justified. Desperately cling on to this weak idea that they are the perfect person for us, because again, quite a few of us are desperate to be with "the one".
But the fact is, if you're truly with the one, they would never hurt you. They would never lie to you, they would never cheat on you. They would be honest with you, care for you, never hurt you, and most of all love you. No one else. Only you.

Inexpensive Nails
Painting my nails has always been a fun pastime for me. I get to see a new color every couple of weeks, It gives me something to do while watching a movie or show, and it helps keep my nails protected from breaking or damage.
Even though it's such an insignificant thing, I feel as though it keeps me more happy and creative. Just like painting your room green increases your inventiveness, or yellow for happiness. But there are some downsides to this, as many of you probably know.
If you paint them too soon after using nail polish remover, you'll start to see little bumps or bubbles begin to form in your nails within minutes of applying. Or if you don't give them enough time to dry, little indentations will start to show up that you'll only be able to fix with more nail polish, which is a pain in the butt.
Even though those things can get annoying, the thing that really sets me off isn't the process of applying the polish at all. It's the process of going to the store and buying it, and seeing some of the ridiculous prices.
I don't think anyone should have to pay more than $5.00 dollars for a small glass bottle of paint that chips away within weeks. When I see prices that are ten dollars or more, it makes me wonder if they're really worth it or not.
So I came up with a little idea a while back that has worked for me ever since I started using it, and that is buying a cheapo colored nail polish, and then an expensive clear polish as a top layer.
I bought the Revlon Clear nail polish for about $6.00, and the Wet and Wild fast-dry for about $2.00 (which you can see in the picture below) I first put on 3 coats of Wet and Wild, which dry very nicely, they take about ten minutes for each layer. And after about a hour, I apply the Revlon Clear polish in a thick coat.
With the Revlon Clear polish on top of the Wet and Wild, the Wet and Wild doesn't chip as quickly as it normally would by itself. In the picture you see above, my nails had been painted for about a week, and there was barely any chipping, if any.
This is just suggestion for longer lasting nails while using a less expensive brand, and it works wonderfully for me.
Hopefully if you decide to try this, it will work for you as well.
Much love
Victoria.
